Independence at Home
Enable Madison County helps aging and homebound residents remain safe, independent, and connected in the homes they love. Since 1979, the organization has filled critical gaps through wheelchair ramps, fall-prevention modifications, weatherization, fresh produce deliveries, case management, and essential supplies. With help from local volunteers, these practical services improve safety, mobility, comfort, and dignity for neighbors across Madison County.
A Path to Healing
Hope for Trauma brings specialized, trauma-focused mental health care to children, adults, and families affected by abuse, neglect, violence, and loss. Through the Smith Family Wellness Center and its Grant Hill Trauma Team, clients can access evidence-based therapies including EMDR, play therapy, parent-child therapy, and equine-assisted psychotherapy, with sliding-scale and scholarship options helping make healing more accessible every day.
Dignity & Hope
ShowerUp Huntsville serves people experiencing homelessness by providing free, private hot showers, laundry, hygiene supplies, and personal care. Since launching in Huntsville in 2020, the organization has provided thousands of showers and essential items while creating a welcoming place where people are treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. Sometimes, something as simple as a shower can help restore hope.
